Who’s hot, who’s not

Who’s hot The Steelers invested a lot of money and two premium draft picks on improving their passing game, and it finally is paying off. Wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who already has $6.4 million in bonus money, is one of the league’s hottest pass catchers with 25 catches for 393 yards and two touchdowns in the past four games. Factor that out over a 16-game season, and it’s 100 catches for almost 1,600 yards. Who’s not When Jerome Bettis went down with a serious hip and groin injury, the Steelers turned to third-string running back Chris Fuamatu-Ma’afala, who responded with only 65 yards on 30 carries. If Amos Zereoue’s shoulder is sound, he will continue to get the bulk of the carries in Bettis’ absence. Fuamatu-Ma’afala, though, has been a solid special-teams player all season.
