Oh yeah, I voted against it. And so did most of the voters. But let's not celebrate yet! Think back to a previous election when citizens were asked on a referendum if they wanted to fund a new stadium with taxes, even though the city still owed almost $40 million on Three Rivers Stadium. The referendum was voted down by more than 70 percent. NO STADIUMS BUILT WITH TAX DOLLARS!! And what happened⢠State tax monies -- as well as money from an additional 1 percent Allegheny County sales tax (that was supposed to be temporary, but will never go away) -- were used for ... ⢠Yep! You got it! They were used to build PNC Park and Heinz Field. So don't pop the corks on the champagne. There's really nothing to celebrate. Tom KanhoferAllison Park
