An Allegheny County jury deliberated for about 15 hours over two days before convicting an East Liberty man Friday of first-degree murder in a 2008 slaying.

The jury convicted Jesse Engram, 21, for the fatal shooting of Korey Johnson, 20, of Homewood, who was sitting inside a vehicle at a North Point Breeze convenience store on Sept. 22, 2008, when a gunman approached the driver-side window and shot him several times.

Police have said they believe Johnson was the target in an April 18, 2008, shooting at the Head 2 Toe store on Wood Street in Wilkinsburg, where an innocent bystander, Kholen Germany, 12, was shot and killed.

Common Pleas Judge Edward J. Borkowski is scheduled to sentence Engram on Feb. 10 to a mandatory term of life in prison.
