Woman robbed in Fayette restaurant lot

A Fayette County woman was robbed at gunpoint Friday in the parking lot of a Menallen restaurant.

State police at Uniontown said a man wielding a handgun approached the woman at 8:50 p.m. in the parking lot of the Coal Barron restaurant on Route 40 and demanded money.

Police said the man took her purse and ran behind the restaurant, where he hid behind a tree. A second person driving an older white or gray vehicle is believed to have picked up the robber.

The robber is described as 6 feet tall and having a thin build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt or jacket.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Trooper James Pierce at 724-439-7111.
