• Forget about the possibility of suspended wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers playing for Tennessee this season. Tennessee coach Derek Dooley said Monday that the star receiver was no longer part of the Volunteers' roster, saying Rogers “is not a part of our team, as expected.” Tennessee Tech announced Monday afternoon that Rogers is officially a member of the Golden Eagles. Rogers was indefinitely suspended Thursday for a violation of team rules.
• It's still unknown which quarterback will start the season for No. 23 Florida, but coach Will Muschamp has a plan for how he's going to use his two-man system. Muschamp said one quarterback — either Jacoby Brissett or Jeff Driskel — will play the first quarter Saturday against Bowling Green. The other sophomore will play the second.
• Florida will be without safety De'Ante “Pop” Saunders for the first two games of the season. Muschamp said Saunders will “sit the first two games right now.” Muschamp declined to say whether Saunders has been suspended, but the coach says the sophomore from DeLand would have missed Saturday's season opener against Bowling Green anyway because of a hamstring injury.
• LSU coach Les Miles said it's unclear if running back Michael Ford or linebacker Taj Jones will play in LSU's season opener against North Texas on Saturday night. Miles said the pair are appealing unspecified academic rulings that could keep them out of the game.
• Missouri tailback Henry Josey will not play this year after injuring his left knee in November against Texas. Tigers coach Gary Pinkel said Josey is expected to make a full recovery. He said he saw Josey running during practice Sunday.
