Morgantown, W.Va. -- West Virginia junior quarterback Pat White, a Heisman Trophy candidate, has sustained a dislocated thumb on his right (non-throwing) hand and will not return to play in the 100th Backyard Brawl.
White leads the Mountaineers with 33 rushing yards on nine carries and had completed 4 of 6 passes for 30 yards. He was injured with 5:12 remaining in the second quarter, when he landed awkwardly on his right hand.
