The Mt. Lebanon Commission has selected Mt. Lebanon High School student Danielle Deiseroth as junior commissioner for the coming school year.
Age: 17

Residence: Mt. Lebanon

Family: Parents, Daniel and Dianne

School: Senior at Mt. Lebanon High School

Activities: Deiseroth is a varsity cheerleader, a student council officer and a member of the school's speech and debate team. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, cooking and skiing.

Noteworthy: Mt. Lebanon commissioners selected Deiseroth to serve as a junior commissioner for the spring semester. Junior comissioners attend the commission meetings and act as liaisons between the commission and students.

Background: Deiseroth applied after hearing about the position from friends and said she has always had an interest in local government. One idea she has for her new role is to start a blog to get a “virtual presence” on the commission.

Quote: “At least to students, things that seem really minute to us like parking or community fields that we use, we don't know the time and planning that goes into making our community so great,” Deiseroth said. “I think it's interesting to see behind the scenes of what goes on.”
