School : John is in 12th grade in the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School.
Activities/interests: In his spare time, John plays drums and the piano. He spends about 15 to 20 hours per week studying various styles of dance, including tap, ballroom and hip hop. Family members say he was inspired to become a dancer after seeing Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Lynn Swann perform ballet on an episode of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."

Noteworthy : John was crowned Mr. Dance of Pennsylvania in January and will compete in July at the Dance Masters of America national competition in Orlando, Fla. Dance Masters is a nonprofit organization of certified dance teachers.
