Young Achiever: Maddie Ziegler

Age: 6

Family: Mom, Melissa; dad, Kurt; brothers, Ryan, 18, and Tyler, 14; and sister Mackenzie, 5

School: She will be a first-grader at Harrison Park Elementary in the fall.

Clubs/organizations: Maddie has been dancing at the Abby Lee Dance Co. in Penn Hills since she was 2 years old. She takes classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and acrobatics and gymnastics.

Noteworthy: Maddie won the title of Miss Small Fry on June 29 in New York City as part of the Dance Educators of America competition. She also was named Miss Petite Fire and Ice during a competition in Gatlinburg, Tenn., on July 18.
