Mason Beaudry, a junior at North Hills Senior High School, recently was awarded a scholarship to study with Dr. Freddie Fu.
Newsworthy: Mason was awarded the Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Scholarship and will complete a six-week summer internship at the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine.

The scholarship was developed to increase student interest in a career in sports medicine. Mason will observe patient evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation by physical therapists and athletic trainers, observe clients in the Sports Performance Department and observe surgery with Dr. Fu.

Siblings: Brothers Kiefer, 22, and Troy, 20; sister Liza, 16

School: Junior at North Hills Senior High School

Hobbies/interests: Mason is a member of the North Hills Senior High School varsity baseball team and French club, and likes to fish with his brothers.

Quote: “I think it's just a great opportunity to gain exposure to the field of sports medicine. I've had two shoulder surgeries and that's how my interest was kindled.”
