School : Aleski is a senior at Chartiers Valley High School.

Clubs/organizations: Aleski is a member of the board of directors of the National Honor Society; on the 2010 social committee for Students Against Destructive Decisions; a three-year member of the Spanish Club; and a member of the Renaissance Club — all at Chartiers Valley.

Hobbies/interests: In her spare time, Aleski likes to play basketball, travel, watch movies and read. She wants to study biomedical engineering, medicine or biology in college.

Noteworthy : As part of her required senior project, Aleski organized a Pink-Out Breast Cancer fundraiser at a boys/girls basketball doubleheader at Chartiers Valley. She has raised more than $6,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Quote : “Breast cancer is prevalent in my family, and many of my friends’ family members have had it. If I can make a difference in someone else’s life, it would mean the world to me. Secondly, my goal in life is to help people. That’s why I chose the careers I have. I wanted to do something that wasn’t average, wasn’t ordinary and that could make a difference in someone’s life.”
