Noteworthy: Ryan, a junior at Moon Area High School, was the only Civil Air Patrol cadet from Western Pennsylvania to participate last summer in the Cadet Officer School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala. Patterned after Air Force Squadron Officer College, the program combines lectures, seminars and training designed to develop cadets' understanding of leadership and discipline.
