A 13-year-old student in Broward, Florida, is accused of sending death-threat e-mails to teachers at two different schools.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says the seventh grader was charged with two counts of written threats to kill, both second-degree felonies. He is now being held in the Juvenile Assessment Center in Fort Lauderdale, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

School officials are also investigating whether to expel the student.

The investigation began earlier this week when state agents said they were contacted by investigators for Broward County Schools over the e-mailed threats.

Authorities said in the first instance, the boy sent an e-mail to a teacher at work and threatened to shoot her. In the second case, the student sent an e-mail to another teacher that threatened to kill students, the report said.
