New Kensington Police Chief Jim Klein’s “retirement” has nothing to do with the shooting death of Officer Brian Shaw during a traffic stop, we’re told. Mr. Klein discussed his plans with the mayor the day before. It nevertheless pulls at the wound of a community still healing from the loss of a dedicated officer. Here’s hoping the move will work out best for Klein and the community he’s served since 1992.
