The Connellsville Recreation Board is looking for a few good men and women who are willing to volunteer their time.

The board needs new members as well as volunteers to help with various events throughout the year.

Over the years the recreation board has been active in sponsoring many popular events for residents. Among these are the always popular summer sports camps and movie nights at East Park.

Volunteering with the recreation board is one way to provide the youth and families of the Connellsville area with events to enjoy. We encourage anyone who has a few hours to devote to these activities, or who would be interested in serving on the board, to contact city officials.

If the rec board doesn't fit your schedule, there are many other volunteer opportunities. For example, there are various community groups, such as the Lions, Rotary, Falcon Foundation, Moose and more. Members of these organizations work behind the scenes in many ways to make life better in Connellsville.

Church organizations, as well, can always use volunteers. The library, Connellsville Community Ministries, the senior center, etc., could use a few extra hands too.

Volunteering for whatever organization you choose is rewarding — not only for those you help but for yourself as well.
