Is anyone who has followed the “humor” of Kathy Griffin surprised by her latest tasteless and despicable stunt, holding up a mock severed head of the president ( “Kathy Griffin apologizes for Trump photo: ‘I went too far'” )?
Her coarse, crude and hateful routines have been consistent and they have served as a means for her to become popular and wealthy in a society that is increasingly tasteless and without discernment, class and dignity.
It is difficult for anyone's actions to cause them to be brought down to the low level of our president, but Griffin has done it. She has managed to render our “leader” a sympathetic figure.
As she continues to apologize profusely for the latest instance of outrageousness, maybe she will go away for a while. It would be a benefit to our culture.
