With a free throw that swished through the net with 13:26 to play in the first half on Wednesday night, Kason Harrell hit a career milestone with the Purdue Fort Wayne basketball team.
The senior guard scored his 1,000th career point for the Mastodons (6-5) in a 68-65 victory over visiting Akron.
Harrell, a Hempfield graduate, finished with a game-high 24 points, connecting on 8 of 14 shots.
He is averaging 15.8 points for the season and now has 1,021 points in 98 career games.
