Brian Rose was working late on his first day as Westmoreland County Community College’s athletic director Wednesday.

Rose, 42, was hired to replace longtime athletic director Dick Holler, who was let go in May.

Rose comes from Bethany, where he was director of athletics for the past five years and associate director of athletics and recreation the past two months. He also served 15 years as the school’s sports information director.

“I’m excited about the new opportunity,” Rose said. “I want to continue to grow all of our athletic programs here and make them even stronger so they can compete in regional and district championships.”

Rose is a 1998 graduate of Bethany and ‘94 graduate of West Allegheny, where he competed in basketball and track.
