New Pitt men's basketball coach Kevin Stallings speaks during a news conference Monday, March 28, 2016, at Petersen Events Center.
Pitt men’s basketball coach Kevin Stallings has one open position on his staff after naming on Friday two assistants, a director of basketball operations and a strength and conditioning coordinator. Three of them worked with Stallings at Vanderbilt.

Officially named are assistants Tom Richardson and Jeremy Ballard, director of basketball operations Dan Cage and strength coach Garry Christopher.

Richardson spent the past 13 seasons with Stallings at Vanderbilt. Ballard has been an assistant for the past 12 years with Division I programs at Illinois State, VCU, Tulsa, Mercer and Colgate.

Both will assist Stallings in recruiting while Richardson will be in charge of player development, offseason workouts and scheduling. Ballard will be involved with player development, on-court coaching and scouting.

Cage was Stallings’ director of basketball operations for the past four seasons at Vanderbilt. Christopher, who has a master’s degree in kinesiology from San Diego State, had been at Vanderbilt since 2013.
