ACC coaches agreed with the media Wednesday when they voted Pitt running back James Conner the conference player of the year.

Conner, who led the ACC and was fifth in the nation with 1,675 yards rushing, received six votes to two each for reigning Heisman Trophy winner and Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston and his wide receiver Rashad Greene. Conner won the media vote last week 16-13 over Winston.

Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley, Duke wide receiver Jamison Crowder, Louisville safety Gerod Holliman and Miami running back Duke Johnson also got a vote.

Coaches were not permitted to vote for their players.

Conner, who also was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year, was joined on the coaches' first team by Pitt wide receiver Tyler Boyd and offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings.

Boyd, who totaled 1,149 yards receiving and averaged 16.7 per catch, was named to the second team as a specialist, along with guard Matt Rotheram. Outside linebacker Anthony Gonzalez received honorable mention recognition. He led Pitt in total tackles (74), including four for a loss.
