First call: A new ‘Big Al,’ Zach Aston-Reese update, NFL camp fights
In today’s first call, there’s a new “Big Al” we should be taking notice of, Zach Aston-Reese appears to have full function of his jaw again, some football fisticuffs and movie-like ending.
“Big Al,” big star
Move aside Alejandro Villanueva. There is a new “Big Al” in town.

Yeah, this kid from the New Jersey Little League team became an overnight star for his own introduction during the TV broadcast. He’s all over the internet. His name is Alfred Delia. But you can just call him “Big Al.” And he hits dingers.
Twitter took over from there.

With energy like that he’ll never need to take an extra day off after he plays at Coors Field.
After getting his jaw busted by Tom Wilson in the playoffs, it took a while for Zach Aston-Reese to get back to normal.
The Penguins forward needed about seven weeks to fully recover. He lost some weight but has since gained it back.
NHL.com caught up with Aston-Reese while he was playing in a charity tournament with Justin Williams, Edmonton Oilers defenseman Matt Benning and forward Dominik Shine, who plays for Grand Rapids in the AHL.
Not all happy in Jacksonville
The Steelers have largely been mocked for not having focus before the Jacksonville playoff game. But the Jaguars don’t exactly look focused here.
After 11 consecutive padded practices, tempers flared during a #Jaguars team period Sunday and continued afterward when Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue repeatedly had to be separated by teammates. https://t.co/8DtCN9kLBV pic.twitter.com/D9V6GhDC8h

That’s a post-practice dust up between Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue. Star defensive back Jalen Ramsey then confronted the reporter who was filming it in person and on Twitter.
Ramsey then got suspended by the team for a week.

That was nothing
If you wanted a real brawl though, you had to check out the Jets and Redskins joint practice.
This one got a little crazy with a fight spilling into the fan area.

The Redskins also were involved in a camp brawl with Houston in 2015.
What a ‘Cinderella’ story
After his walk off grand slam, Cubs infielder David Bote got to meet Bill Murray.

I suppose now that Harry Caray is gone, this is ultimate in Cub fame.
This was just the 29th “ultimate Grand Slam” in baseball history. “Ultimate” meaning a walk-off grand slam with your team down three at the time.
