Post Malone and Antonio Brown were spotted at the 61st annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Center on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, in Los Angeles.

In today’s “First Call,” Antonio Brown was at the Grammy’s. The Penguins got some help. James Neal lost some chiclets. We have your AAF team to support.

______

Photogenic

Imagine. You are the guy with the face tattoos.

And you are the one in the photo op who people look at and assume is the most stable.

At least that’s how I view this photo of Post Malone at the Grammy’s last night. He was pictured with Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown and his blond mustache and multi-colored hair.

Post Malone was snubbed from winning any awards. I assume Brown blamed JuJu Smith-Schuster.

______

That helps

The Penguins are slumping, having lost four games in a row. But they at least still hold a playoff spot with 63 points.

That’s thanks to the help of others. The Devils edged Carolina 3-2 on Sunday, while the Sabres were losing 3-1 at home to the Jets.

That means the ninth-place Hurricanes and tenth-place Sabres with 62 and 61 points, respectively, were kept at bay from challenging the Pens for the eighth and final playoff slot.

As for the Metro Division-leading Islanders, they were 2-1 winners over the Wild. New York maintains a five-point lead on Washington.

The Pens are in Philadelphia tonight for a 7:00 pm face off.

______

“Watt did he say?”

Steelers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Jesse James both have referenced the Steelers as being like “The Kardashians.”

Now an All Pro with a Steelers tie is doing the same thing.

WattTweet

That’s Texans star J.J. Watt on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” using the same derisive comparison after text conversations with his brother, T.J., who made the Pro Bowl as Steelers outside linebacker.

I wonder if Art Rooney II would prefer that those of us in the media would use that phrase instead of “circus.”

______

Steel=Iron

If you are going to pick an Alliance of American Football team to follow, perhaps make it Birmingham.

The AAF has NFL “affiliate” teams . The “affiliates” work backward from, say, the minor leagues in hockey or baseball.

In those sports, when the big-league team wants to call up a guy, they turn to their affiliate teams. In the AAF, when NFL teams cut players, their clubs are designated to absorb the discarded talent.

Birmingham is the team that gets the Steelers’ castoffs. The Iron have seven former black-and-gold players. Defensive lineman Johnny Maxey may be the most recognizable name.

Steelers alum Larson Graham from Duquesne University is also on that roster. Others include:

• Josh Frazier, defensive line

• Casey Sayles, defensive line

• Jacob Hagen, safety

• Jamar Summers, cornerback

• L’Damian Washington, receiver

______

Is there a dentist in the house?

Over the weekend, former Penguin James Neal got smacked in the face by Vancouver’s Alex Biega.

NealHit

Yup. Those would be his teeth flying out of his mouth and all over the ice.

It’s been a tough year for Neal. He only has five goals. Now it just got more painful.
