A Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver was named team MVP on Thursday for the fifth time in the past eight seasons.

The recipient, however, was not All-Pro Antonio Brown.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was snubbed for the Pro Bowl last week, earned the MVP award in voting by his teammates.

In his second NFL season, Smith-Schuster has accrued 106 receptions for 1,389 yards and six touchdowns. He ranks fifth in the NFL in catches and is fourth in receiving yards.

Brown, a four-time winner, won the award in the 2017, 2015, 2013 and 2011 seasons. The other wide receivers to win the award were Hines Ward (2005, 2003 and 2002), Louis Lipps (1989, 1985), John Stallworth (1984, 1979), Ron Shanklin (1973) and Roy Jefferson (1969).
