FILE - In this Sept. 24, 2018 file photo, the Philadelphia Flyers mascot, Gritty, takes to the ice during the first intermission of the Flyers’ preseason NHL hockey game against the Boston Bruins in Philadelphia. In video shared on his Twitter account, Gritty proclaimed his love for snow on Thursday, Nov. 15, by shuffling his feet to form the shape of a heart. The NHL just keeps giving.

First, Seattle gets a hockey team. Now the league is providing a little holiday cheer via GIFs with the 2018 NHL GIF Exchange.

So many GIFs it’s basically GIFmas.

On Twitter, the NHL started a thread where each team could share their favorite GIF of the year. Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty, although an adversary of Pittsburgh Penguins fans, has received a lot of love in GIF form. And really, a GIF is about the amount of exposure to that monster that would be recommended by a doctor. Probably.

Be warned: once you start GIFing, it’s hard to stop.
