Rangers forward Tanner Glass is being isolated from the team until Monday because he has the mumps.

The former Penguin missed Friday’s game and Saturday’s contest against the Flyers.

The Wild, Blues and Ducks were also affected by the mumps disease this season with multiple players having missed games.

Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle missed Saturday’s game with flu-like symptoms. He is listed as day-to-day and will be replaced in the lineup by John Moore.

Also, forward Chris Kreider left the team to be with his family following the death of his grandfather. Forward J.T. Miller of Coraopolis was recalled from the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL to replace him.

Canadiens’ Emelin fined

Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin was fined more than $11,000 by the league for an illegal check to the head of Sabres forward Brian Gionta.

The fine is the maximum permitted under the collective bargaining agreement.

The incident occurred at 18:06 of the third period of a 2-1 win by the Sabres on Friday.

Jackets call up 2

The Blue Jackets recalled center Michael Chaput and left wing Kerby Rychel from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass. The club also assigned center Alexander Wennberg to Springfield.

Rychel, the club’s second first-round pick, 19th overall, in the 2013 draft, has six goals and seven assists and 30 penalty minutes in 22 games with Springfield in his first professional season.

Wennberg, also a first-rounder in 2013, has three assists with eight penalty minutes in 21 games with the Blue Jackets this season

Blues place Bouwmeester on IR

The St. Louis Blues placed defenseman Jay Bouwmeester on injured reserve with a lower-body injury Saturday.

In addition, the Blues recalled defenseman Petteri Lindbohm from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
