Fishing report: Walleye hit or miss at Walnut Creek
⢠While anglers report fishing for walleye at the Walnut Creek access area is hit or miss lately, they are reporting successful catches between 40 and 110 feet of water. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission recommends fishermen check conditions reports with Walnut Creek Access prior to boating due to low water levels of late.

⢠At Canadohta Lake, largemouth bass are a popular catch this week.

⢠Trout fishing in most of the area is slow due to hot water temperatures, but there were some reports of trout to go after in the deep, colder portions of local streams in Somerset County. Brush, Shade and Laurel Hill creeks should provide anglers with a good place to start for trout fishing.
⢠Fishermen on the Quemahoning Reservoir are reporting a healthy population of walleye. One 37-inch Northern Pike was also caught and released at the reservoir last week.
⢠The Youghiogheny River Lake continues to provide fishermen with a steady supply of smallmouth bass. Spinnerbaits, jerkbaits and topwater lures are good choices for anglers hitting the lake in search of bass in the early-morning hours.
