Ex-Penguin Marc-Andre Fleury noted as Nevada's state flower on Wikipedia
The Nevada state flower is now “Fleury,” at least according to Wikipedia.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Wednesday that someone changed a Wikipedia page that lists each state's official flower to name ex-Penguin goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury as the highest-regarded flower in the state.
Fleury is now the net minder for the Vegas Golden Knights, who have advanced to the Western Conference Finals in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The team is in its inaugural season.
The news outlet reported that the official Nevada state flower — except during the playoffs, at least — is sagebrush. A screenshot of the Wikipedia page posted by the Review-Journal showed that “gardien de but” — goaltender in French — was listed as Fleury's scientific name. Fleury means flower in French.
