The Penguins’ Garrett Wilson beats Blue Jackets goaltender Jean-Francois Berube in the third period Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at PPG Paints Arena.
In addition to shaking up their line combinations and power-play personnel, the Pittsburgh Penguins made some roster moves Tuesday, calling up wingers Zach Aston-Reese and Garrett Wilson from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL and sending down center Derek Grant.
Aston-Reese, one of the organization’s top forward prospects, has six goals and nine points in 11 AHL games this season, including a hat trick in an 8-5 loss to Bridgeport on Sunday. Last year, he had four goals in 16 NHL games.
Wilson, 27, is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s captain and leading scorer. A physical forward, he has six goals and 11 points in 11 games this season. He has 34 games of NHL experience with the Florida Panthers.
Grant has no points in six games for the Penguins this season.
