Jubilation and heartbreak: Reactions to Pirates' Josh Harrison ending Rich Hill's no-hitter with walk-off homer

Matt Rosenberg

The die-hard baseball fan was on the verge of seeing history.

And when the perfect game was lost, history still awaited.

Even once Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill's perfect game was broken up by a Logan Forsythe error in the bottom of the ninth inning, the lefty still had a chance at a no-hitter in extra innings against the Pirates on Wednesday night at PNC Park.

It took 27 outs and one batter for history to do an about-face.

Josh Harrison's 10th-inning walk-off home run ended Hill's no-hit bid and was the first extra-inning walk-off to end a no-hitter in MLB history.

The baseball world was abuzz with excitement over history ending and history being made all with the same swing of the bat.
