Justin Bieber drops in on believers in Steeler Bible study
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.Y. — The Steelers apparently have a new believer after winning three games in a row – singer Justin Bieber.
Bieber stayed at same Jersey City hotel as the Steelers did Saturday night, and he dropped by the players’ pregame Bible study session. Bieber posed for pictures that were posted on Twitter by Arthur Moats, Bruce Gradkowski and Matt Spaeth.
Bieber must like AFC North teams; earlier this year, he was seen partying with Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel. He also attended the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in February.
The Steelers, playing at that stadium for the fourth time in three seasons, deactivated safety Ross Ventrone, quarterback Landry Jones, safety Shamarko Thomas, safety Troy Polamalu, linebacker Ryan Shazier and offensive lineman Chris Hubbard for their Sunday afternoon game against the Jets.
Ventrone, who has a hamstring injury, tried running on the field about 10 a.m. but apparently was not cleared to play. Nose tackle Daniel McCullers, who wasn’t active for the Ravens game last Sunday night, is in uniform.
Polamalu, Thomas and Shazier all were ruled out early in the week by coach Mike Tomlin. Will Allen replaced The Steelers are trying to win at MetLife Stadium for the third consecutive season. They beat the Giants behind Isaac Redman’s 147-yard rushing game two seasons ago, then ended their season-ending four-game losing streak by beating the Jets, 19-6, last season.
They also played the Giants in their preseason opener in August.
The Steelers are 19-4 all-time against the Jets.
