West Virginia’s new football coach Neal Brown has hired Travis Trickett, the son of former Mountaineer assistant Rick Trickett, to his staff.

The younger Trickett will be on the offensive side of the ball. His assignment will be decided on a later date.

Ricky Trickett was a student assistant at WVU (2003-07). His father was an offensive line coach for the Mountaineers, and his younger brother Clint was a starting quarterback in 2013 and ‘14.

Trickett was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Georgia State the past two seasons. He also was the offensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic in 2016 and spent five seasons at Samford.
