Man caught licking doorbell of California home
Maybe someone triple-dog dared him to do it.
A man was caught licking the doorbell of a house in Salinas, Calif. As if that’s not odd enough, police say he did it for three hours.
Of course, there’s surveillance footage.
Homeowner Sylvia Dungan told KION-TV she and her husband were out of town at the time, but her kids were inside. Their security system alerts them when there is motion detected around their front door.
“I thought, boy there’s a lot of traffic. I go, 5:00 in the morning?” Dungan told KION. “My son doesn’t get home till 6:00 a.m. well then who the heck is that?”
Upon viewing the footage, the Dungan immediately called police, who used the video to identify the suspect as 33-year-old Roberto Daniel Arroyo.
Neighbors are just as baffled as the Dungans.
“I thought I’d seen it all, but this takes the cake,” neighbor Francisco Javier Estrada told KION.
Another neighbor, Stephanie Rosario, said, “Never have we seen anything like this.”
Police told KION the suspect also appeared to go to the bathroom in the Dungans’ front yard.
“You kind of laugh about it afterwards because technically he didn’t do anything,” Dungan told KION. “This just kind of reinforces how important it is to have security within your home.”
If caught, police said Arroyo could be charged with misdemeanor charges of petty theft and prowling.
