Jai Krocker, 2, of Carnegie prays with her aunt, Shantel Hilbert, 31, of Carnegie during a ceremony of remembrance on Main Street in Carnegie, Wednesday, September 17, 2014, for Dennis Santiago, 35, of Carnegie who died when he was swept into flood waters during the events of Hurricane Ivan 10 years ago in Carnegie and Heidelberg.
Carnegie residents, business people and officials attended a nondenominational prayer service on Wednesday night to remember the Sept. 17, 2004, flood that killed one man and damaged hundreds of properties.

The service at the East Main Street Bridge preceded a gathering in Adventist Community Services.

The aftermath of Hurricane Ivan dropped nearly 6 inches of rain on the area, causing Chartiers Creek to overflow.
