Update: The consumer alert was lifted Sept. 6.

The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Thai Hana & Sushi in Downtown Pittsburgh because inspectors reported finding moths, roaches and flies in the basement.

Inspectors noted a total of 10 violations, including four high-risk infractions, during an inspection of the Fifth Avenue restaurant on Monday, according to a county report.

Inspectors found moths crawling in a bulk container of brown rice in the basement, according to the report.

The county ordered the restaurant to discard the rice and consider buying rice in smaller quantities.

Inspectors also noted the presence of mouse droppings, a dishwasher that failed to sanitize properly and a liquid dripping from the ceiling.

A call to the owner Tuesday was not immediately returned.
