The general in charge of U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq Thursday predicted "victory" by December 2005.
Gen. George Casey defined winning as a three-pronged achievement: "A constitutionally elected government that is representative of all the Iraqi people and with Iraqi security forces that are capable of maintaining domestic order and denying Iraq as a safe haven for terror," he told reporters at the Pentagon.
He said the coalition is "broadly on track" to achieve those goals.
"I believe we will get there by the end of December '05," he said.
