Background: Beavin previously worked in the admissions and development offices of Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Va.; taught at Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and was a founding board member of Veritas Christian School in Columbus, Ohio. He has worked in public relations with ministry groups such as Evangelism Explosion International, In Touch Ministries and Bible Literature International.

Noteworthy: Geneva College recently hired Beavin as director of development to increase fundraising and donations to the college's Annual Fund.

Quote: "The Annual Fund has a large focus toward scholarships, and you don't have to tell people what's happening with the costs of college (tuition) these days. Economic times are tougher right now."
